Why New Sat Navs Are A God Send For Driving Fleets
The latest development in GPS technology is here and companies are already putting it to good use. Sat Navs and GPS tools of old could only let the driver know about their locations, which directions to take and speed etc. New newest devices however can relay this information to a computer anywhere in the world and this is very usually for business that has fleets of vehicle out on the road. A taxi company or travel business for instance would benefit enormously. Lets look at the main advantages of these GPS systems
Speeding. The velocity of the vehicle has previously just been for eyes of the driver but now the bosses can see too. A number of the top devices even tell you if the vehicle is being accelerated or braked too hard. What this means is that good drivers can be rewarded and bad drivers given warnings. As excessive speeding accounts for almost all accidents on the road today, this can only be a good thing.
Petrol. Stats released by Jump The Sun show that drivers, especially in the taxi trade, would claim petrol money from their employers for miles that were covered whilst not on work hours. Minimal information could be taken from the tachometer but it was very difficult to prove that the miles were not covered in work time. Now however, there can be no arguments as employer can see the exact route drivers took, when they took it and at what speed. They can even pick up traffic reports
Location. Drivers can get to a new location much faster and more efficiently when their locations are mapped by a central operator. There is no longer a need to call each and every driver to find their location, you can just look at a computer map and send the nearest vehicle to the location.
